How to install font utility TypeCatcher on ubuntu

TypeCatcher is a handy useful utility designed in mind with font managing, centering font-specific functionalities into a lightweight intuitive interface.

TypeCatcher features:

  • preview the fonts with adjustable size and text;
  • search fonts;
  • download and install the fonts on your computer;
  • uninstall any fonts you’ve installed using TypeCatcher;
  • for more info about a font, it can open its webpage in your default web browser.

TypeCatcher allows users to search, browse, download and install fonts from Google Web Fonts easily. TypeCatcher also features font previews, helps the user to preview (font look, predefined pieces of text, etc) fonts before downloading and installing the fonts. Basically TypeCatcher is a complete flow of dealing with fonts.

TypeCatcher 0.1 is also available in Ubuntu 13.10′s Ubuntu Software Center, allows users to easily install and enjoy the font utility via Ubuntu Software Center. Just search “TypeCatcher” in Ubuntu Software Center you will be able to find and install.

Install TypeCatcher on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander

# apt-get install typecatcher

Install TypeCatcher on Ubuntu 13.04, 12.10 and 12.04, you can install TypeCatcher by using its official PPA:

# add-apt-repository ppa:andrewsomething/typecatcher
# apt-get update && apt-get install typecatcher
